  • Policeman at the scene of the explosion in which Larry McMahon, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, married, 4 children, Roman Catholic, died.  Mr McMahon was murdered by the UVF, Ulster Volunteer Force, a loyalist paramilitary organization, on 15th March 1973. An explosive device detonated killing him instantly when he went to investigate a noise at his front door at 21.45. His wife and some of his children were also injured.
