  • Belfast-born writer & academic Brian Keenan who officially opened an exhibition of photographs taken by his late friend, Buzz (Brian) Logan. The exhibition at the Red Barn Gallery, Rosemary Street, Belfast, 17th April 2015. Keenan on 11th April 1986 was kidnapped by Islamic Jihad in  Beirut where he was a teacher at the American University. After two months in isolation he was moved to a cell which he shared with British journalist John McCarthy. Keenan now lives in the Republic of Ireland.  Also in the photo is gallery director, Frankie Quinn. 201504160686<br />

  • Francis Rowntree, 11 years, from Lower Clonard Street, Belfast, who was hit in the head by a rubber bullet fired by a British soldier during rioting on 20th April 1972. He died on 23rd April 1972 from his injuries. There was controversy at the time as to whether Francis was actually involved in the rioting and that the rubber bullet had been tampered with to make it more lethal. 1972042230239.<br />

  • Marcella Sands, sister of Bobby Sands, the Provisional IRA Anti H-Block hunger striker, waiting for the Fermanagh & South Tyrone by-election result in which her brother was a candidate. The election was on 9th April 1981 and the count on 10th April 1981. Bobby Sands won the seat but still on hunger strike died a few weeks later on 5th May 1981. 198104100070S8.<br />
