Michael Naan, 31 years, single, farmer, Roman Catholic, Newtownbutler, Co Fermanagh, N Ireland, who was stabbed to death at his farm on 23rd October 1972 along with another man, Andrew Murray. At the time loyalists were blamed for the murders but in 1981 two soldiers, former members of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders were jailed for life for both murders. At the time the killings were believed to have been in retaliation for the murder of a UDR soldier John Bell two days earlier. A third former soldier was also jailed for 4 years. 197210230639MN
