Martin Corey, 61 years, who was sentenced to life in 1973, along with two others, Bill Meehan & Peter McVeigh, for the murder of two RUC constables on the outskirts of Lurgan. In 1992 Martin Corey was released on licence but the licence was revoked in April 2010 by the former Northern Ireland Secretary Shaun Woodward. In August 2011 the Parole Commissioners ruled that the revocation of the licence should remain in place. On Monday, 9th July 2012, Mr Justice Seamus Tracey, ruled that the Parole Commissioners had breached Mr Corey's human rights in refusing to release him. He said the commissioners should reconsider the matter and directed that, in the meantime, Corey should be released on unconditional bail. 201205240434.
