Police outside the home of Judge Rory Conaghan, a Roman Catholic, who was shot dead in his Belfast, N Ireland, UK. On the same day at approximately the same time in another part of the city a Protestant magistrate, Martin McBurney, was also murdered. A Provisional IRA statement said they had been assassinated for "collaborating with the British war machine". 197409160494c.
