Deirdre Conaghan, the nine year old daughter of Roman Catholic Judge Rory Conaghan, and a witnesss to her father's murder at Beechlands, Belfast, N Ireland, is escorted away from her family home by Liam McCollum, QC, a prominent member of the local legal profession. On the same day at a approximately the same time a Protestant magistrate, Martin McBurney, was also murdered. A subsequent Provisional IRA statement said they had been assassinated for "collaborating with the British war machine". 197409160494d.
