Chief Inspector Ken Drury, Scotland Yard, London, UK, on his arrival at N Ireland's Aldergrove Airport, is quizzed by reporters. Drury had come to NI to carry out an independent investigation into the death in Londonderry of Samuel Devenney, Roman Catholic, 42 years who, along with other family members, were allegedly beaten up by members of the RUC who were pursuing some young people who to escape ran through the Devenney house. Samuel died of his injuries two months later on 5th July 1969. In the photo is David Dunseith, former police officer turned reporter for Ulster Television in 1970. 1970000127b.
