The car which was being driven by resident magistrate, William Staunton, when he was shot by the Provisional IRA. Mr Staunton, a 46 year old Roman Catholic, from Belfast, N Ireland, was dropping off his two daughters and their friends at St Dominic's High School on the Falls Road by the Provisional IRA on 11th October 1972, when the Provisional IRA struck. One of Mr Staunton's daughters was still in the car when the gunman opened fire. Mr Staunton died 15 weeks later on 25th January 1973. 197410110619
