Firemen tackle blaze following Provisional IRA 500 lb bomb attack on the RUC police station, Musgrave Street, Belfast, N Ireland. Adjacent buildings seemed to have suffered more damage than the actual police station. It was claimed the bomb attack was in retaliation for the death of IRA member Hugh Coney who was shot dead by a sentry during an escape attempt at the Maze Prison. Twenty nine other prisoners were captured within a few yards of the prison, and the remaining three were back in custody within 24 hours. 1974110604c.
