Dr Peter Gormley, father of Rory Gormley, 14 years, Roman Catholic, who died in a UVF gun attack on his father's car as be was being taken to St Malachy's College. Dr Gormley, a leading eye surgeon, who worked in the Mater Hospital, was also injured as was a brother of Rory's and another boy. The Gormley family from South Belfast were taking a short cut across the loyalist Shankill Road, Belfast, N Ireland when the incident occured. It is believed the car was targeted because of the St Malachy's school uniforms. At the inquest it was revealed that one of gunmen was aged about 15 years. 197211270759b.
