Members of the University Air Squadron of Queen's University, Belfast, N Ireland, pose in front of one of their Chipmunks, at the then Sydenham Airfield, now Belfast City George Best Airport. The photograph was taken 16th December 1969. Formed 8 January 1941 at Sydenham it was disbanded on 31 July 1996. The four instructors in the back row are (from left): Flight Lieutenant Alan Taylor, Squadron Leader Brian Leefarr (Commanding Officer), Flight Lieutenant Robert Aiken (Chief Flying Instructor) and Flight Lieutenant Brian Hood.
Middle row (l to r): John Sheen, Pete Houghton, Steve Wehrle, David Saldanha, Brian McCann, Bob McKeown, Paul Diamond, Wilf Gowing, Chris Munro, and Tim Hazan.
