Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney who is this year celebrating his 70th birthday ceremonially cuts a birthday cake, a gesture from his friends at Queen's University, Belfast, where he was a lecturer in Modern English Literature during the 60's. The occasion was a lunch followed by Heaney being interviewed by broadcaster William Crawley, left, also in the photograph.
