Irish Ranger William Best, who was executed by the Official IRA in Londonderry on 21st May 1972, is laid to rest. Best, a member of the British Army, was a native of the staunchly republican Creggan area of Londonderry. Ranger Best, who was home leave from Germany, had never served as a frontline soldier in N Ireland. 197205230306b, 306/72.
