Golden Pheasant Inn, Lisburn, Co Antrim, N Ireland, explosions in which the owners, two brothers, Anthony O'Reilly, 43 years, & Myles O'Reilly, 41 years, died. Two bombs were planted by three UVF, Ulster Volunteer Force, members. Three men were subsequently tried and convicted. The O'Reilly brothers from the Ardoyne area of North Belfast, were close friends of future Irish president Mary McAleese who had originally planned to hold her wedding reception at the Golden Pheasant on the day of the explosions. When the guest list grew they were obliged to move it to the then Ardmore Hotel in Newry. 197603090134a.
