O'Connor_Michelle_funeral_197506160497b.jpg
Children follow the hearse containing the little white coffin 3 year old Michelle O'Connor, who died when a UDA/UFF booby trap bomb exploded when she was getting into the family car along with her father, John O'Connor, who received very serious injuries but survived. Michelle was being taken to nursery school. The incident took place on 13th June 1975. The funeral on 16th June 1975 was from the Holy Rosary Church on the Ormeau Road, Belfast, and was attended by hundreds of Protestants as well as Roman Catholics. No reason could be found for the attack other than sectarianism. 197506160497b
