Explosion at Kelly's Bar at the junction of Springfield and Whiterock Roads, Belfast on 13th May 1972. It was carried out by Loyalists. Over 60 people were injured, 7 seriously. One of seriously injured, a 19 year old part time barman working in the pub, John Moran, died subsequently on 23 May. The explosion sparked off a 3-way gun battle between the British Army, the Provisional IRA and the UVF (Ulster Volunteer Force) in which 4 people died on the day of the explosion, and 2 the following day.
