The attack, attributed to the UDA was carried out by two masked men. There was some suggestion that the target was her husband, Frederick Hughes, who was the manager a social club in the Ardoyne. Mistaken identity may have been a possibility as Mrs Hughes was dressed for painting wearing his slacks and a pullover. The children in the photo, Frederick, 13 years, Martin, 10 years, and Kathleen, 7 years, were in the house at the time of the attack. 197512220781.
