Alan Moorehead, 16 years, civilian, Newtownstewart, Co Tyrone, N Ireland, who was shot dead, 7th October 1972, by a UDR, Ulster Defence Regiment, patrol responding to a terrorist explosion at a local cinema. The patrol open fire when a youth climbing a security wall at the rear of the cinema failed to respond to three challenges. It transpired that the youth was almost totally deaf. The youth's father said he did not blame the soldier who fired the fatal shot. In a cruel twist of fate the boy's uncle was a member of the UDR patrol but did not fire the fatal shots. 197210070614
