Rose Curry, 18 years, single, Roman Catholic, Abercorn Street North, Belfast, who died, 23rd September 1971, along with Gerard O'Hare, 17 years, also from West Belfast, when a device they were working on exploded prematurely at a house in Merrion Street. Miss Curry's father, an internee, was released on compassionate grounds to attend her funeral. Both were members of the Official IRA whose United Irishman publication said they were the first fatalities suffered by the official republican movement in the present Troubles. 197109230353RC.
