Gerry Adams, who has been detained by the security services, in a swoop on his Falls Road, Belfast, home, following a tip-off. The security services allege that Adams is the Belfast commander of the Provisional IRA. Brendan Hughes and Tom Cahill, two other republican activists, also allegedly members of the Provisional IRA were arrested at the same time. 197307190511
