Detective Inspector Cecil Patterson, RUC, Royal Ulster Constabulary, who died in a gun battle with the Provisional IRA in the Ardoyne district of North Belfast, on 26th February 1971, was on VIP protection duty during the visit to Belfast of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and her husband, Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis, on 5th September 1970. Aristotle is a 25% shareholder in the Belfast shipyard. 197009050347CP
