Two civilian workers at Ebrington Army Barracks, Londonderry, John Dunn and Cecilia Byrne, died when a booby-trap bomb attached to the car in which they were travelling exploded. The explosion happened in the immediate vicinity of the army barracks. Mr Dunn was giving his co-worker a lunchtime driving lesson when the bomb detonated.
