Eva Martin, 28 years, married, from Lisbellaw, Co Fermanagh, was the first female member of the security forces to die in the N Ireland Troubles. She died 2nd May 1974 in a Provisional IRA gun & rocket attack on a UDR base in Clogher, Co Tyrone. An estimated 40 members of the IRA took part in the attack. Eva Martin's husband was also on duty that night in Clogher and it is believed she died while he was checking for a pulse. See Lost Lives No 1083 for more information. 197405020264EM1.
