Mourners view the floral tributes at the grave of the three Maguire children, Joanne, 8 years, John, 2 years, and Andrew, 6 weeks, who died as a result of one of the most tragic and horrific incidents of the N Ireland Troubles on 10th August 1976. A car driven by Daniel Lennon, aka Danny Lennon, member, Provisional IRA, mounted the pavement and ploughed into the Maguire family. Lennon died at the wheel having been shot by British soldiers in hot pursuit. The incident gave rise to the birth of the Peace People organisation led by Mairead Corrigan, aunt of the dead children, and another local woman,Betty Williams. 197608130371e.
