Friends and neighbours waiting with bin lids at the ready await Republican internee Sean McClenaghan, 19 years, and his bride, Sadie McCauley, 17 years, after their wedding at Holy Cross Chapel, Ardoyne, Belfast, N Ireland, on 8th April 1972. Rattling bin lids to warn of a police or military presence became a tradition in republican areas of Belfast. Mr McClenaghan was given 24 hours parole for his wedding and honeymoon! 197204080177b.
