Louis Boyle, Roman Catholic chairman of Queen's University Belfast Conservative & Unionist Association, who has resigned from the party claiming that his attempt to secure nomination as a Ulster Unionist candidate in South Down was blocked blaming the influence of the Orange Order. The Queens Conservative & Unionist Association under Boyle's chairmanship was very firmly part of the Terence O'Neill wing of the Party.
