Joseph Downey, 23 years, an IRA volunteer, from Henrietta Street, Markets District, Belfast, N Ireland, who was shot dead during a gun battle involving the British Army on 22nd July 1972. Among the mourners at his funeral was his uncle, Crhistopher Downey, who was shot in October 1973 in mysterious circumstances in Manchester, England. 197310220647.
