The plastic bullet which it is claimed caused the death in disputed circumstances of a 13 year old Roman Catholic schoolboy, Brian Stewart, from Norglen Parade, Turf Lodge, Belfast, N Ireland, on 4th October 1976. At the inquest soldiers said they were under attack from stone-throwers and in response fired baton rounds aka plastic bullets. A claim in the local courts was refused and an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights was unsuccessful. The size of the baton round should be judged against the size of the young boy's hand. 197610040463b
